Back in the 70's, the only Wellesley internships available were on Capitol Hill and seemed to be awarded mainly to Political Science students. With no family political connections, I wrote a letter to my congressman and included my resume. Once I started, I learned he felt the most impressive person who ever had worked in that office was a Wellesley graduate and that is why he hired me.
