The example of women in the faculty showed that there were no limits to the possibilities in choosing a physics career as a goal . In graduate school in Greece, I realized what a great advantage it was to have been at Wellesley in a physics class with women only, to learn to explore ideas without the drawback of aggressive men students dominating the floor. I found out I already had the self confidence to be equal to them, which was not true of the other women students who had followed the Athens University courses ( I remember that all were surprised at my audacity). This self confidence carried over into my career as a particle physicist in the international physics fora. I realize that the situation is different now, than what it was in the sixties and seventies.
